The Long Beach Sea Base runs on volunteer support. We could not do the things we do without dedicated, caring, talented volunteers. From teaching classes, to cleaning boats, repairing broken parts, cutting the grass, fundraising, and serving on committees, there are plenty of opportunities to help. Volunteering at the Sea Base offers a chance to make a real difference in young people’s lives, gain valuable skills, and build a strong sense of community, while also experiencing personal growth and fulfillment.

Sea Base provides a unique location where Scouts, guests and visitors can explore, participate and enjoy all of its recreational amenities. We offer a variety of aquatic activities including kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, rowing and canoeing. We also provide access to a patio with BBQ facilities and lunch area. The Sea Base also has meeting rooms and AV equipment for training, meetings and classes. We even offer the space to do Rain Gutter Regattas. Sea Base serves around 2,000 participants annually. We are always looking for Dockmasters to assist with the daily tasks of running the base and supporting programming! If any of this is of interest to you, please reach out!
Please note that background checks, application fees, registration, and training is required prior to volunteering. We have very high standards to ensure the safety of youth in our care. To inquire about volunteering, please contact Kristen.Verdoia@scouting.org or at 562-344-1589.
